Palm, maker of the popular Pre smartphone, has quietly released an one software development kit for us with webOS, the mobile operating system that power’s the manufacturer’s latest handsets.
Dubbed Ares, this powerful SDK is completely web-based, allowing webOS developers to create and manipulate applications for the Pre and Pixi smartphones. The interface is clean and accessible but initial reports suggest that developers are finding the process itself fairly complication; given that Palm hopes to draw a new breed of developer with Ares, one should expect any complaints to be acknowledged quickly.
