Nokia Announces C5 Smartphone

Nokia has announced its latest Symbian S60-based smartphone, a social networking device dubbed the C5.

This small smartphone sports a 2.2″” screen with 320×240 resolution along with additional basic features like 3.5mm headphone jack, a 3.2 megapixel camera and 2GB of on-board storage. With a focus on popular social networks, the C5′s homescreen offers one-click access to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace along with built-in apps like Ovi Mail and Nokia Messaging; Ovi Maps is also included for voice-guided directions.

Despite its official designation as a smartphone, the Nokia C5 is set for a European release at only 135 EUR (about $180 USD). While specific markets have yet to be confirmed, the C5 will ship to select European markets in Q2 2010.
