Nokia Promises MeeGo Phone Soon

Nokia’s new mobile solutions chief has proclaimed the MeeGo mobile operating system to be a “key asset” for the company in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Anssi Vanjoki added that Nokia would be ready to launch the first N-series devices running MeeGo by the end of 2010, indicating that both smartphones and tablets are on the table at the planning stage.

MeeGo is the identity given to the merged Nokia Maemo and Intel Mobiln when the companies merged the respective software last year.
