HTC is getting ready to release its third handset powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system and the Hero is drawing lots of attention in the meantime. Sporting a slew of wireless features, extended multimedia capabilities and Android to boot (quite literally), the Hero opens the second generation of Google phones.
The Hero sports a 3.2″ 320 x 480 pixel touchscreen with anti-fingerprint coating to keep oils off and combines the screen with a technology the company is calling HTC Sense; think TouchFLO for Android with a lean towards general usability.
A five megapixel camera on the back of the handset is a big improvement over the HTC Magic and extended media capabilities, including support for Adobe Flash, allow users to get the most out of everything from their pictures to the web.
HTC has yet to release any specific pricing, provider or release info but they are suggesting a European release in July with an Asian release later in the summer and North American’s seeing the Hero in late 2009.
