HTC has announced their latest Google Android device in the form of the HTC Tattoo. Rumored for many months as the “Click”, HTC says that this device is the first Android-powered handset for “the masses.” The new name is apt as the Tattoo allows for easy customization via pre-made and custom covers.
The Tattoo sports a 528MHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM for top-notch performance for Android and its included applications. A 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen with 240×320 resolution provides room for the HTC Sense interface, providing one-touch access to voice calls, SMS, email, photos and status updates by contacts.
Wireless functionality includes HSDPA and WiFi along with GPS for navigation and Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless headset and headphones. Other features include a microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphones jack and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The HTC Tattoo is set for release in Europe next month with additional markets, including North America, being considered leading into the Christmas season. Pricing has yet to be set.
